Failure to obtain a certificate of conformity is considered as a violation of the legislation/regulations

We at RACS, as a notified body by Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA), would like to keep you updated concerning the latest announcement from the authority.

What: Intensive Market Surveillance for all Manufacturers, Traders, and Importers

The Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA), being the National Standards Body and the National Certification Body by virtue of Federal Law No. 28 of 2001, would like to inform that in coordination with the local government authorities, will conduct an intensive inspection campaign on both the showrooms and warehouses in the market starting from October 01, 2019.

With this regard, all traders, importers, retailers, and manufacturers shall abide by selling/displaying/storing complying products to the relevant legislation and granted Conformity Certificate and make it available upon requests or at the time of inspection.

Please note: “Failure to obtain a certificate of conformity is considered as a violation of the legislation/regulations and may result in legal actions such as penalties etc. Product recalls will be circulated to all relevant Authorities in UAE through the “Federal Manaa System” as a platform for national product recall systems for all Government Entities and the public.
